Camera Lens

In the world of camera's a 50mm lens is considered normal and a 100mm lens in will double the size of a object.  A 200mm lens with make it 4X, and a 300mm 6X, from this point you should understand how lens work in respect to magnification.  There is much more to the then just magnification.  The speed of the lens is another factor which must be taken into consideration.  The shutter time varies depending upon the amount of light.  One trick I read about was to use a multipiler.  The multipiler increases the magnification however it comes at a cost.  The cost is the it take more light and the shutter speed will be slower as it take more time to collect the image with the reduced light.  The other catch is remaining still as the farther out the object and more zoom the more the camera moving will become a problem.
