I keep getting asked, "so what is the difference between the iPad and iPod." The biggest difference no surprise here. The Screen size of it and 3G in the models that support it. While corporate training states it is a entirely new product. Truth be told sorry a big screen is just that a bigger screen. Apple is still a one time wonder. They are great at releasing a new product and then adding tweaks to make it new but iPad is not a big enough change to be able to call it a New Product category.
Tablets have been around for awhile, nothing new. The thing about them is they are larger and weigh much more. They have full keyboards also. While these tablets are much more the ability to use the touch screen is also not new. Apples New innovative device continues to loose its luster with each of these facts. While the touch screen on the iPad allows for total control of the device so do the operating systems of the tablets.
Multitasking is a very important for most users as it allow more than one application to be use simultaneously. The iPad is not setup for multitasking. Apples failure to incorporate the right features to their device seriously hampers their sales. Other tablets are on the way and they are much more capable it the right size and the right features.
At this time I can't recommend the iPad. It merely is no more than a large screen iPod. It has few changes and is not worth the cost. Maybe next time it will have right features to make the cut.
A resent update iOS 4.2 just added multitasking. While the iPad still is not all that it needs to be this software update did fix one major issue.
